355 ml cna from the LCBO breakers bin. pours hazy golde with an off white head. aromas of biscuit malt. the flavour is plain and simple. english malts from start to finish. not overly sweet but on the sweeter side of things. the rtings seem to be a bit all ove rthe place with this brew. i quite liked it and would gladly have it again.

Can, 500 ml, best before 270307, purchased at the LCBO on April 28 2007, savoured on July 6 2008; eye: golden, slightly hazy, average effervescence, voluminous white head, a bit of lacing; nose: floral hops, caramelized malt, light fruity; mouth: thin, light caramel, light fruity, slight hops, slight oxydation, finale in diluted caramel, no carbonation, lightly sweet, rather watery; overall: so? FRANÇAIS Canette, 500 ml, meilleure avant 270307, achetée à la LCBO le 28 avril 2007, savourée le 6 juillet 2008; œil : dorée, très légèrement voilée, effervescence moyenne, mousse blanche abondante, un peu de dentelle; nez : houblon floral, malt caramélisé, léger fruité; bouche : mince, léger caramel, léger fruité, très léger houblon, très légère oxydation, finale en caramel dilué, pas de carbonatation, légèrement sucrée, plutôt aqueuse; en résumé : correct

on draught; little head; very grainy aroma; clean, fresh taste, maybe a bit sweet; brief finish; quite liked it

500ml Can: These folks aren’t too far from me, and I’ve enjoyed their Dark and Stout reasonably well, but had heretofore avoided this one. Probably for good reason.. pours light orange in colour, reasonably head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet, off-fruits.. not too good. The taste isn’t any better; some soury sweetness, lots of grainy flavour, mildly noticeable bitterness. Not well done.

Pours an apricot-straw gold with a white sudsy head (1 cm) that doesn’t last long. Smells of banana, caramel, and toffee. Pretty much a Banoffee pie. Mouthfeel is smooth and the carbonation is spot-on. Taste is sweet banana, a bit of dark honey, and mild bitter finish. Something like a hefe-hybrid. The banana seemed to suggest that to me, but it really doesn’t have the spicey clove like a hefe. I quite liked this beer. It’s an excellent session brew and it appeals to me. I think it’s very underrated.

first impression: this not the best balanced beer in the world. pale yellow with a slightly fruity aroma, the taste is yeasty. the hop schedule should probably be under review as the bitterness dominates flavor and aroma. and there isn’t enough body to counter it.

500 ml can - pours a nice clear golden colour with a decent sized white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Biscuity, fruity aroma - lots of sweet malt and a surprising amount of hops. Soft and velvety in the mouth, with flavours of bread, yeast, some grain, and a very nice, though subtle, hop bitterness. Beautiful, delicate carbonation. A bit too much sweetness. A fine, if simple, stock ale, and a great session beer in the warmer months. Colour me very pleasantly surprised. I tried this one about a year ago, but it left me with very little to remember. I’m happy I gave this one a second chance.

[450-20070727] Sample @ LCBO-Summerhill. Wheatie fruit aroma tang. Clear, dark yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Wheatie fruit flavour is a little sweet and quite pungent if not fresh and cold. Medium body, grainy. Better than I expected.
