May 11, 2009 A nice whitbier, but not great. Corriander was the main flavor, some orange as well. Some bars serve it with an orange, but I pass on fruit in my beer. Out of the bottle its a little lemony, otheer citrus flavors.

May 8, 2009 (Draft) Cloudy lightly grayish yellow body with a finger or so of whitish head. Aroma of lilies, yeast, citrus and light spice with a bit of glue. Mouthfeel fairly soft and wheaty smooth, refreshing and lightly dryish. Light, weepy rings of lacing. Flavor is lightly citrusy (lemon) and light spice. Wheat malt and yeast. A bit sourish. Nice. Probably sets the standard for all mass-produced witbiers.

May 6, 2009 Citrus and spice aroma, with a somewhat pale apperance. Flavor is wheat with some spice and with hints of citrus (orange and lemon) throughout. Finish is a little flat and drinks a little thin. Overall, a great beer with a decent price tag.

May 5, 2009 Bottle, 33cl - Hazy pale yellow colored beer with a nice big head. Aroma is fresh with hints of lemon, and yeast. Flavor is again citrusy lemony with hints of wheat and coriander. Not overly impressed with this Wit, although I do enjoy this beer a lot a hot summers day.

May 3, 2009 Bottle. This is a hazy golden yellow in the glass with a densely bubbled white head (tiny, tiny bubbles). The aroma on this is pretty nice: tons of lemon and yeast with other citrus fruits, clove. The mouthfeel is really nothing special, thin and fairly watery, slightly bubbly on the tongue. I taste lots more lemon, some orange, wheat, water.

Hazy pineapple juice colour with white head. Lemony, citrus, sweet and yeasty aroma. Sweetish, wheaty, fruity flavour with some hoppiness. Excellent witbier.
Oud Hoegaards Bier (Bière Blanche) from 1979 tasted in Kulminator, Antwerpen, Belgium.
330 ml bottle. 4.9%. Finland.
Parallel tasting with Hoegaarden, St. Bernardus Wit and Wieckse Witte.
Hazy pale yellow colour with small white head.
Wheaty, yeasty, fruity (citrus) and refreshing aroma.
Refreshing crisp fruity wheaty flavour with sourish citrus notes.

May 3, 2009 Pours a slightly "flourescent" yellow with gorgeously contrasting white head that remains meringue-like and retains well.
Nose is a soft mixture of lemon with other mixed citrus, and faint vanilla.
On the palate is a nice balance of wheaty malt sweetness with citrus, yeasty/estery flavours that are oh so good, and a suggestion of candied sweetness as well.
Finish is pleasingly tart and appetizing. Although Hoegaarden was amazing in previous years compared to this bottling more recently, it is nonetheless an amazing ale.
