May 21, 2008 Dark brown pour full off white head nice lacing. Smells like german beer.. haha... no fairly grainy some sweet notes a hint of caramel and grahm cracker along w/ a touch of nut. full rich palate. Sweet flavor, pretty easy to drink. Enjoyable.

May 16, 2008 Poured a dark, dark brown with a thin head. Seemed to be a pretty standard German dunkel, with the taste and smell having substantial malt with overtones of mild hops. Seemed pretty medium-bodied for being such a dark beer and went down smooth. Went great with my tacos for dinner!

May 11, 2008 I had this from a bottle (no date code of course) and thought it quite marginal. It was quite vegetal in aroma and flavor, with abundant cereal-ness that reminded me a great deal of Play-D. I poured most of it out.
Color was a surprising bronze-color, that was unlike any other beer I can recall. Aroma and flavor were unpleasant, vegetal and grainy. Mouthfeel was unremarkable.
I do not recommend this beer.

May 8, 2008 On tap at The Cooperage Inn, Baiting Hollow. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a thin off-white head that disappeared after a couple of sips. Light, pleasant aroma of malt and not much else. Flavor is sweet malt up front and finishes with light bitterness. A nice alternative to the usual BMC offerings at most restaurants; it was a pleasure to be able to drink something different.

May 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a Coke brown with slight carbonation and an aroma of rhutabega. Slight off-white head that looks more like an adolescent’s version of a mushtache than something worth admiring. Faint flavors of molasses-dipped nuts roasted over an odorless fire dominate the taste. Slight hint of vegetable in the finish. Watery mouthfeel. Forgettable.

May 1, 2008 Slight sweet dark raisins on the nose. Cola colored with small head. Malty, good balance, but action disappears quickly. Decent mouth feel, but finishes a little thin. All characteristics got a little better as it warmed up. It was enjoyable, but could use a little more complexity.

Apr 18, 2008 On tap at the Hofbräuhaus. A dark brown colour with a good head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is also malty with some sweetness. Fairly unimpressive.
