Great caramel malt aroma. Flavor is full of caramel, nuts and is a bit sweet. Do yourself a favor and try the Hofbrau beers fresh on tap...what a difference. nhamilton (68), Cibolo, Texas, USA

A little lighter tasting than I expected. Solid Dunkel, like something you could serve to a non-craft beer guy. Sweet, malty taste & aroma. I wouldn’t seek it out, but would definately have it again. A great beer, I must say; I found it to be immediately enjoyable and noted that I would certainly drink it again. It pours an appealing dark colour with a decent frothy head which, unfortunately, recedes a bit too quickly. It has an enduring and pleasing flavour; distinctively caramel. It goes down very well. Well worth buying! cking (1023), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Coffee colored body with a creamy, thick, bubbly head and very nice lacing. Toasty malt aroma with a solid biscuit scent. Silky smooth texture coupled with a light creaminess. Very well balanced brew. Multi grain toast and toffee are found in the flavor along with a hint of chocolate (very faint hint) and some grassy noble hops. A surprisingly good dunkel, would make for a fantastic session brew. fata2683 (891), Panama City, Florida, USA

Rich roasted malt with thin coffee notes. Moderate carbonation and light body. Drinkable, but boring.
