Malted aroma dominates with mild roasted cornhusks and grassy hops. Ketchup joins late. (I observed acidity and raspberries in this beer two years ago...) Smooth and dry with a perfect flavor-balance of malts & hops, finishing on a clean bitter note. A very good Maibock.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear and amber with a yellow hue. Big lacing, off white and very creamy head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a breadlike feel. High carbonation. Dry mouthfeel. Flavour is not as sweet as the aroma. No traces of the alcohol, but with a warming feel. I kind of like it! thegreenrooster (1846), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2007 Pour is a clean looking brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma is drffinatly bready malts and lots of it. Flavor is a bit weak and watery. Some caramel malts and i agreee with a lot of raters here that the alcohol is quite potent in this one. Will have to have others of its kind to compare it to but this is a average at best beer. EithCubes (2169), Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 3, 2007 Green bottle. Aroma of caramel malt with slight grape and alcohol. Sweet with some orange. Pale, clear orange body with a orange-tinged rocky beige head. Good deal of malt in the taste and a somewhat high level booziness. Slightly sour and salty, a little funky. Medium bitterness on an oily medium body. Some sticky caramel. Warming dry, sticky aftertaste. Much more complex than most members of the style, but the booziness is a big turnoff.
