Apr 14, 2007 Updated: May 12, 2007(Rerate; bumped it up a bit) Draft; orange amber with a medium white head. Pretty good balance of flavor. Dry finish; some malt, hops, and breadiness. Pretty good beer, for a style i’m not overly familiar with.

Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. Clear copper-orange in color with a small beige head that doesn’t last long. Very light aroma of malt and faint hops. Flavor is much bolder, but smooth bock lager, quickly transitioning to a hoppy bitter finish. Not a style I like, though it is obviously a well made brew. Fairly drinkable. I never once noticed the alcohol and that is remarkable since it’s a high abv brew and I look for and appreciate an alcohol bite in most brews. Good, but I enjoyed the kindl weisse more.

Mar 29, 2007 This is a fantastic maibock, amber in color with an orange hue, big & fluffy light tan head, aroma full of malts with hints of caramel, toffee & pine, velvetty-smooth body, very drinkable, lots of malt in the flavors with subtle notes of caramel, herbs & nuts, but it’s really the finish & aftertaste that makes this beer so great, very smooth, begs you to take another gulp, this is borderline addicting, very impressive beer

Mar 22, 2007 mild malty nose with a few esters. Nice copper red with some head and lace. From 12 oz bottles that just arrived at Bodega Brew Pub, downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin USA. Well carbonated, ( just a tad too much for my taste), dryish, maltly and a bit boozy. Easy to drink, but maybe a bit too easy with the strength.

Mar 16, 2007 Copper, significantly darker than the other maibock I recently had. I’m really liking the complexity of maibocks, this one has fruity sweetness, berries, herbs. Lightly bitter on hops. Very nice. A little smooth on the carbonation maybe.

Mar 14, 2007 The aroma is malty with yeast, mild hops, and butter. The appearance is copper/amber with two finger head. The flavor is malty with butterscotch and herbal bitter hops. The palate is thin but smooth. The aftertaste is sweet and somewhat toasty. Overall this is quite a unique taste for me.

Feb 25, 2007 Bottle. Strong smell, a little too strong. Smells and tastes a little too sweet though still very drinkable and goes down smooth.

Feb 21, 2007 I had this beer on draft at the Old German Beer Hall in Milwaukee. The overly sweet maltiness was not really for me, and it is significantly sweeter than other maibocks I’ve had (Summit in recent memory). Blasphemy I know, but I really preferred the Kindl Weisse.
Appearance was a sparkling mahogany brown in a dimpled mug with good head formation. Aroma and flavor were both quite sweet. Mouthfeel was slightly sticky. This beer was rather drinkable.
