Commercial Description:
By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

Clear sparkling orange, creamy off white head. Soft nose of sweet toffee and toast, with underlying tones of breadiness and grassiness. The light sweet malt and flowery German hops blend nicely for near perfect balance. Medium to full bodied, light carbonation, bittersweet, caramel grassy finish. A nice session Maibock if there is such a thing...

Pours an orange/crimson color. Not alot of head. Aroma is mostly malty with some yeast being present as well. Feels quite thick going down. Nice malty character. Some sweetness. A little taste of yeast. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Slight hint of alcohol as well. Good flavors that are well blended.

Clean aroma, medium-toasty malt, spicy noble hops. Crystal clear copper color, mesmerizing trails of swirling bubbles lead up to a thick off-white head. Bready malt flavor balances out spicy and herbal hops, just a hint of canned corn. Sweet malt up front transitions into hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body, crisp but not a lawnmower beer. Clean and nicely balanced.

Very nice amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet and spicy cinnamon, sugar, malt, and honey aroma. Nice sweet candy sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, peach, honey and bread flavors. Fairly crisp feel.

Strikingly beautiful crystal clear amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma and flavor hint at cinnamon, bread, slight alcohol, and cherry. The feel was rather crisp, not too thin...wet coating finish. Nice.

Mild, almost undetectable aroma of roasted malt. Appearance has a nice amber color with head that starts out good, but diminishes quickly. Aroma of celery. Rich roasted malt flavor with some doughy characteristics and vegital undertones. Moderately well balanced hop bitterness remains in the aftertaste. Crisp lager character. I like it. Not great, but very good.

Aroma is a syrupy sweet but not necessarily in a good way. Flavor is dusty and astringent. Either this brew is overrated or I got an old bottle. No good.

Amber color with a large white head. Aroma of sweet malt with a hint of hops. Sweet malt continues and dominates the flavor with a mild hop finish. Lots of flavor. Smooth, easy to drink. Alcohol is present but not overly so.
