Even know this beer has travelled more than a IPA back in the day it seemed stronger than all that travel and the green bottle although slightly light struck this beer was big malty and one of the better Maibock I have had. Would like to belly up to a tap of this for the night..Page 216 of Michael Jackson’s GBG and only 145 of his 500 Classic Brews to go changeup45 (797), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Pours muddy brown, decent head, some lacing. Aroma smells of very sweet, perhaps past it’s prime, fruits. Sweet caramel flavor, some honey, vanilla, and a sharp fruity note but not in a good way. There’s a sweet, skunky taste that lingers a little. One of three things happened here, the bottle is old, I’m starting to get spoiled, or it’s just not very good. Who knows. grikmok (92), Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA

Initial flavor of hops followed by a slightly bitter roasted taste. Good German beer. LordCorkscrew (975), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2008 12 ounce bottle from Total Wine. Pours a tasty-looking 1.5 inch off-white head over a honey/amber body. This has a dry aroma of sawdust and subtle malty grains. Spotty lacing. Flavors include toasty wheat, a refreshingly subtle hops presence, more malts, and a caramel-apple aftertaste. Mild carbonation and medium body. A refreshing and smooth and solid beer.
