Commercial Description:
By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine. Pours a tasty-looking 1.5 inch off-white head over a honey/amber body. This has a dry aroma of sawdust and subtle malty grains. Spotty lacing. Flavors include toasty wheat, a refreshingly subtle hops presence, more malts, and a caramel-apple aftertaste. Mild carbonation and medium body. A refreshing and smooth and solid beer.

tap at The Yardhouse. Amber pour. Aroma of malts, spice and a tad bit of floral hops. Flavor is somewhat malty and yeasty...pretty well balanced beer. Nice and smooth.

bronze color, big fluffy and lacey head. nose of sour mashing factories and bread, with notes of overripe fruit and grains. Sour, wheaty malty flavors...grainy finish. Adequately hopped and buscuity in its maltiness. Alcohol hidden pretty well, Firm body.
