Commercial Description:
By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

50cl bottle. Pours amber/orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel , bread, sugar & a hint of alcohol. Fruits & caramel - extremely pleasant & drinkable. Sticky & filling palate. Nice German!

Vom fass, Chinesischen Turm. Shining red amber with white lid. Toffeeish cooked malt sprinkled with almond booziness aroma, a trace of musty background hop. Caramel mouth, spritely m/f at the strength, slightly astringent bitterness with a touch of alcohol burn. Cherry stone/ almond gentle bittersweetness. Too strong and boring to throw back by the half litre, but decent enough.

The color is incredibly nice; orange-red amber and the head is dense. the aroma has notes of flowers and fresh fruits and caramel. The flavour has sweetness, fresh fruits, mostly citrus, caramel and light candy sugar in the finish. It’s a charming and nice heller bock.

[Draft @ Hofbrauhaus, Las Vegas] Poured an amber color with a large, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted dough, nuts, and caramel malts. Taste of sweet caramel up front, dry, woody hops, some nuts, toast, light citrus, and a dry finish. No alcohol detected.

Yeast aroma with some malt coming through. Clear dark orange color with a small white head. Malt beginning with a tangy yeast finish. Moderate body.

Bottle. Pours a lively sappy amber with a thin body. Stratus clouds form the head on the top of the beverage. Nose is bits of caramelized peach and roasted nut. Slight touch of banana’s foster in there as well. Flavor is a touch of roasted malt and syrup. Average mouthfeel but the flavors are dispersed slowly and wide along the tongue. Nice brew. Glad I bought a sixer of this.
