Commercial Description:
By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

An amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, peach, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet and quite dry with notes of caramel and lots of alcohol.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear amber with a handsome, lightly creamy, off-white head. Soft aroma of malt and caramel. Nice, full body with plenty of malt. Caramel accents and a vaguely alcoholic finish. A pleasant Maibock without the sharp alcohol and bitter, hoppy finish that usually categorizes the style. 290606

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden cobber brown with a huge light orange head. Mild spiced aroma, slight metallic. Flaour is spiced and with a light alcohol presence. Smooth breadish note too. Spiced and bitter into the far finish.

[Bottled] Bronze colour, creamy head. Piney caramel aroma with a dash of alcohol. Very firm with evident grassy hops and some salty licorice. The sweetness is masked by generous amounts of malt. Medium bitterness.

Bottle. Fruity and peppery aroma. Dark copper colour. Semi-stable head. Nice peppery and malty flavours in good balance. The bitterness is a bit rough, but that also helps balance the malt.

Bottled. Amber colour with big off-white head. Aroma of fruit, raisins, malts and a weak sting of alcohol. Strong malty body with hops also coming in. Weak sting of alcohol, and palate is quite "soapish" slippery. Not bad at all.

Bottled. Clear orange coloured with a creamy off white head. Sweet malty aroma with lots of caramel and notes of fruits. Sweet flavour of dark bread with notes of malts and an OK hoppy finish.
