The aroma is of honey and skunk. Medium to full-bodied with prickly carbonation. Sweet and malty, but decently balanced by a crisp Bavarian hop bite. Crisp, minerally, lightly sweet finish. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 30, 2008 The pour was a very pale copper color with almost no head and no lacing. The aroma was very malty with only a bit of light fruit cutting through. The flavor was malty, bready and barely fruity. Thin mouthfeel. Not a whole lot going for this one. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Pours golden with a fairly large white head. Aroma is slightly skunky pale malt. Taste is smooth and malty as well, with a very small taste of hops. A very light marzen, almost more like a helles to me. Steely (175), , Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Brilliant golden color with a light white head. Crisp malty aroma with hints of newly-baked bread. Refreshing nice malty flavor with butterscotch and a perfectly balanced hop-bitterness. BiddleBrau (332), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Although this does seem to rate well here, I had it on tap at Andy’s and it reminded me of the beers in the Munich tents. Golden with thin white head and light lacing. Clean malty aroma and wonderful malty flavor. Low carbonation gives this a creamy feel on the tongue. Lalli (164), Helsinki, Finland
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2008 0,5 l bottle. A solid Oktoberfest brew with nice appearance. Somehow, though, the alcoholic sweetness is more pungent than in Paulaner´s version, for instance. A good beer, but perhaps not quite the best festbier out there. kassner (468), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold, with a nice big head. No lacing. Aroma is light, mainly bread and yeast, and consistent with the style. Nose takes on a metallic note as it warms. Flavor is well balanced, slightly spicy, and a bit sweet. Not overly complex, but pretty tasty. Palate medium bodied, and a bit creamier than I expected. Overall this is a drinkable, but not great Marzen.
