Commercial Description:
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

12oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a deep gold color with a small amount of foamy white head that lasts. Does not have the usual orange Oktoberfest hew. Aroma is hayish, sweet fruits, slight caramel, kinda like a mix of an octoberfest and a pilsner. Flavor is light and crisp, slightly skunk aftertaste, hay, and crisp hoppy finish.

The worst goddam Octoberfest beer I’ve ever had. The aroma is very malty, with corn, and other adjuncts. The color is a very pale ywellow, with a white head. This is thus far indistinguishable from a pale lager, the most odious of beers. The flavor very hoppy, and spicy. WTF??? This is not at all like a Marzen. There is a strong hoppy character on the finish. This waas not at all what I was expecting, and I wasn’t pleasantly surprised.

Bottle, part of a six pre fix from Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ, bright golden color, brilliant, hefty head, wheaty aroma, plain, lager, taste is as plain as possible. about the norm for marzen, but that said, fairly lame. Sad and dreary, that’s oktoberfest, AFAICT. Someone correct me — what’s the point to oktoberfest-marzen styles?

Poured a straw yellow with a white head. Aroma was grassy. Flavor was a light malt with a good hoppy crispness. Drink ice cold

The final of 4 different Oktoberfest beir in our test. According to the swedish alcohol monopoly this beer is 6.3 % and a litle stronger than the others we tried. This is clearly noticable in the bigger maltiness both in taste and the aroma. With the higher maltiness it aqlso have more bitterness to make it balanced.

Fresh bottle poured into proper glass. Holds a dense white head. Aroma is doughy with grains and a slight metallic aroma. Flavor is more on the sweet side than the grassy side, which I was hoping for. Some honey notes are present also along with a not horrible butteriness. I’ve had this a lot over the past week and I don’t recall this beer being so sweet.

(Draught at Old Bank, Turku, 2008-08-30) Pale golden. Clear. Medium sized quickly disappeared white head. Metallic and lightly grassy nose. Medium bodied dry palate with lot of carbonation. Lightly grapefruit, bitterness and fruitiness in taste.

Bottle. golden pour with a nice round white head. Aroma has fruits and some butter. Flavor is overwhelmed with a alchoholic taste with a a sharp almost metallic finish.
