Commercial Description:
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

This beer pours a light golden yellow with a medium tan head leaving some good lacing down the sides. Wow does this thing have a skunky smell! I smelled it the moment I started pouring it into the glass! The flavors are quite weak, no good malt in the mix and not a good balance of hops.. really has more of the flavor of some off flavored pale ale. They totally missed the boat on this one. Cheers

Light coppery amber with a fluffy white head. Weak sweet malt aroma with a grassy malt flavor and a hint of alcohol at the finish. Just an average Octoberfest.

Golden yellow in color - very clear and watery looking with no head. Doughy, skunky aroma. Highly carbonated! Flavor is doughy and malty - but still weak. Bland and watery.

The worst beer I had at Oktoberfest. The tent was filled with the jerky Americans I avoid in Boston; the waitresses were horrible; and, the Swiss guys who were telling me that Red Sox would lose to the Padres drove me nuts. Avoid this beer and this tent!

Clear yellow coloured with enormous carbonation and an average white creamy head. Malty fruity aroma. Medium palate with some sprankling. Finish is light bitter fruity, smouth. Nice ending. Enjoyable and balanced "simple" and honest beer

Bottle. Bought @ Riepen, Harrislee. Pours a clear golden with medium bubbly slightly off white head. Aroma is malty with clear grassy hops and a little biscuit. Low carbonation. Flavour is not that powerful - only a little sweetness from malts before a relatively heavy peppery and grassy hoppiness kicks in.

Draught @Bishops Arms, Malmö. Pours a clear golden color with a longlasting white head. Malty grassy aroma with some bready hints. Sweet malty bready and slightly grassy flavor. Sweet malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

On tap at the Cooperidge Inn in Baiting Hollow, NY. Pours a brilliant clear gold with a moderate white head that lasted through mid-glass. Very light aroma of sweet malt. The flavor is again sweet malt with a bit of hops bitterness at the finish. Very nice caramel mouthfeel. Not the most exciting beer in the world, but then again neither is the style.
