| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2006 A half shade darker than mcro yellow with a weak white head. The nose is not much better. A slightly skunked nose with underlying light (slightly caramel) malt and lighter floral hops. The palate is middle of the road lager. Not huge, not flat, not thick, but refreshing. The flavors are a bit better than the aroma (the skunk is still apparent, damned green bottles). Sweet with significant caramel malts (though mostly pale). The floral hops are there, providing some bitterness and a bit of a Saaz-like after taste. Still the skunk is obvious. I reallly think this is more of a nonoffensive lager than a true Marzen. I guess that’s what real oktoberfest is all about though! tcruicks (282), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Light yellow in color, clear, with a very small white head. The aroma and flavor are very similar- both are sweet, with light fruits like maybe peaches and pears, some malt, some grassy notes and some general skunkyness so maybe this bottle is just old. Its a bit unpleasant. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Soft malts and grain. Hop finish. This is not my favorite style, but I like this one. Tmoney99 (4790), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured clear amber with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate grassy sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. HopBackDoc (395), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA

Skunky aroma with some yeasty carbonation. Fluffy white head. Malty taste up front backed by a mild hop finish. beerledgend (919), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2006 Tasted 18/07/2006. 355ml bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits, Wellington.
Pale gold, bright, with a brief white head. Light lace. Honey, biscuit and grass on the nose at first; pollen-like yeast notes and a slight mettalic aroma come later. More honey sweetness in the mouth, with a grassy, spicy middle and a lingering herbal note in the finish. Medium weight, tending light, with a slight carbonic bite that I’d prefer not to get. Very well made. Good but well short of inspiring.
