Dull orange-tan with a lively, foamy head. Sweet malty aroma, some yeasty pungency balanced by spicy noble hops. Doughy and creamy body, very nice, though certainly not as heavy as newer US versions of the style. Mellow but steady noble hop taste sticks with you, from the crisp initial sip to the lingering aftertaste. A clean and refreshing version, still retains some underlying malt pungency true to the style...almost like a crisp hoppy Bock at times. Nice. borisz (190), Netherlands
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Bottle, 50CL bought at the bierkoning in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Is it really a oktoberfest beer? For me it is a normal lager.
Ok beer. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2009 I can see this as a well received draft offering for the masses under the Hofbrau Festival tent, would be easy to throw back liters of this all day. But as far as Oktoberfests go, this one pales in comparison to most of the others out there. Faint grassy aroma, nut much else doing. Light yellow body with a golden tint, 1/4" bubbly head, great carbonation and thin lacing. Light bodied, quenching and tame. Pedestrian flavor of grassy malt and doughy biscuits. Maybe a touch of noble hops, but very mild at best. Not offensive, but it would be hard to distinguish this from a regular lager if it weren’t for the label. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 25, 2009 This beer looks a lot like a pale lager but with more head. The nose is also Saaz hops and grain with no spices noted. Flavor is the same. Was my bottle mis-labeled? As an Octoberfest this one is a disappointment. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Gold. White head. Grainy malt with corny sweetness and a mild dose of hop bitterness. Medium body, smooth. Easy drinkin golden festbier. obxdude10 (1563), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2009 I sampled this pretty average Oktoberfest beer from a 5-liter mini-keg. The body is really smooth, rich and drinkableable. I assume that is from the mini-keg. The beer pours a golden color with a big and fluffy white head. The head leaves a ton of lacing around the glass, as well. The nose features tones of toasted bread, oats, yeast and a sweet note of barley. The flavors are a little on the sour side, with mostly malty and bready notes. There is a slight hint of hops in the back-end and finish of the flavors. This is a pretty clean and refreshing marzen, but lacks a bit in the body and flavor departments. arkurzynski (101), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Don’t get this one. Decent beer in general, but not what I would expect from an Oktoberfest. Poors golden. Pilsener-like hoppy aroma. Tastes like a pale lager with mild spice. Again, a good beer, just doesn’t fit the style in my opinion. Rating comes with a (*), I guess. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 21, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a softly carbonated light yellow colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and Vienna malt An OK brew that lacks oompf and is just nothing special.
