OK, OK, so maybe my High School german is failing me. I poured this from a 12oz bottle into a real half-liter krug, and true to form it left a huge white head. A slight hop/malt nose, and the mouthfeel is right on target. Sweet malt, just a perfect amount of hops, giving a wonderful, soft Munich Helles experience! beerbill (1954), Laurel, New York, USA

Pours a crystal clear gold with a thin white head that was gone after several sips. The aroma is light floral hops with some malt. The flavor was light malt, bread, and a bit of hops bitterness at the finish. Pretty mild brew actually, perhaps I would think more highly of it if this were summer. However one thing I can say about the munchen original is the second I opened the bottle, it smelled.....well....horrible.
However after tasting, figured it wasn’t too bad. Defiinately has pilsner-ish qualities as TAUNUSMIES below me siad. taunusmies (277), Finland
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Golden coloured beer with a large head. Malty, a bit sweet aroma with some bitterish hops. Has a slight "pils-like" feel. Allen (1373), Switzerland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2007 Sampled in a pub in Aarau, Switzerland. It pours a golden beer with a white head. The bubbles rise slowly from the bottom of the glass. The aroma is very interesting. The taste is nicely bready, hoppy with hints of wild strawberries and grapefruit. Earthy. Decent bitterness. The grapefruit characteristic domintates after some sips. Slightly milky. Good mouthfeel. The finish is of lemon with a nice lingering bitterness. KnutAlbert (3145), Oslo, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Crisp, dry and refreshing. Lots of flowery hops, it cleans the palate as a decent German lager should do.
On tap at Munich airport, where they have lovely bretzels, too! Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Spots of lacing. Lightly floral nose with spots of fruit and malt. Light body with flavors of grain, malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter and short. Pretty average all around. mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 16, 2007 One word describes this one: mediocre. It was straight down the middle on all fronts. Pours a clear golden color. Thin head that dissipated quickly. Mild body and only a faintly pleasant aroma. The flavor was really quite nondescript. It was just a so-so beer overall.
