Mild aroma of pale malt. Clean fresh lager taste; mildly hoppy with sweet malt character. Quite good, but the same beer brewed and on tap at the Newport, KY Hofbrauhaus is better. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Don’t know if it was the good times, good food or load of beer, but this was pleasant. Golden yellow with a frothy white head. Sweet malty aroma and flavor. Medium palate. Finished well with the pork product I ate. WisconsinBeer (528), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 5, 2005 Crisp and easy to drink. Soft malts and fizzy palate. Slight fruitiness in the middle and finishes with light bitter hops. Not as skunky as some mainstream German lagers. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2005 Your average looking Helles. This one has a particularly strong malt aroma with some toasted cookie. Very malty in flavor and slighty spritzy on the tongue. Could be a little richer in body but is better than some. I could see how this may be quite an appealing beer when bought fresh but as a bottled import, it falls a short. tlitt2 (58), Lexington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Golden hue with good sized white head which diminishes slowly. Smells of sweet malt. A crispness, bite to palate. Certainly refreshing. Very mild and drinkable. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 20, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pale, pilsener golden with a decent head. Soft, malty aromas. Flavour is dominated by sweet malt without much bitterness really. A typical Bavarian lager. 080203 cvillebeer (134), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2005 Light golden with a frothy head that subsides into a decent half-inch of sustined head over a bubbly clear beer. A basic german lager is not my favorite style, but for what it is, this is pretty well done. Aromas of sweetish malt, barely noticeable hops and a familiar lager yeasty character. The flavor is smooth, clean and crisp, but with a slightly bitter-hop aftertaste. Not a stunning beer, but does what it does pretty well. Recommended if you want a light, clean unchallenging beer. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 25, 2005 Pours a clear golden with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma is lightly grainy and floral. Flavor mainly consists of bland grain and notes of hay, grass and a slight touch of lemon. Light hop bitterness at the end but there’s no real hop character. Medium body, lively carbonation. I love a good Helles but there’s not a lot to say - drinkable but very boring.
