The aroma is sweet, dominated by banana and caramel. Hints of roasted malt, faintly smoky. A sweet and watery taste. Some caramel, rather earthy. Pear, banana and brown sugar. This beer is quite thin bodied with a weak but very interesting palate. Toasty. The slight smokiness in the taste is rather enjoyable. This dunkelweizen isn’t boring, the body is just thin. Faint yeasty and fruity (apples) finish. The flavors are very enjoyable, it’s just the thin body that doesn’t quite match with the taste. Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil

It was my first trip to HB Munich while stationed in Bavaria. My buddy knew German and ordered for me, knowing my taste in beer. He was spot on! The beer was served in a Litre stein, and was the same color as Dr. Pepper. The head was a light chocolate brown which matched its aroma. The flavor was perfectly balanced with a smokiness I haven’t tasted since. roboequator (17), Wellington, New Zealand
