In the nose, typical weisse characteristics of dough, vanilla, banana and clove clash with the unfortunate green bottle skunk. Flavor has very light flavors of banana bread, pear and apple. Also has some skunk in the flavor from the green bottle. Overall, this is a decent beer, but a poor example of the style, especially considering it’s from Munich. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 22, 2008 pours orange kinda cloudy but not as much as some other hefs, aroma is floral with lots of bananas. Flavor is slightly yeasty with noticeable wheat. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2008 500 mL pour at the Chinesischer Turm in the Englisch Garten in Munich on 5/31. Hazy golden yellow pour with a pillowy white head. Estery, yeasty aroma. Flavor was the same with some clove and coriander spice coming through as well. Medium/light mouthfeel. Refreshing after walking through the garden on a warm summer day. DruncanVeasey (2753), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle, Viktualienmarkt, Munich. Heaped orange murk becoming headless. Woodsy, peppery, candy cigarette aroma with banana touches. Dryish lemony banana fruit, a big sweet crumble of biscuit. Lingeringly peppery, very decent weisse. changeup45 (797), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 Hazy yellow color with a nice fluffy head after the pour. Aroma is citrus banana, some yeast and just a slight touch of grass. I taste a lot of spices at first, sort of like a seltzer feel, then some citrus and yeast. Finishes a little dry. Crisp and refreshing. Pretty good. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2008 Wow I haven’t rated this before. Available in bottles here in Abu Dhabi. Pours a cloudy orange color, drinks with a creamy consistency, lightly sweet, fruity with just a restrained yeastiness. As good as it gets here! (#3458, 5/30/2008) MrTBone (11), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2008 Another great example of German Hefe Weizen. Sweet & fruity but not too much. Great banana nose, light in body, great flavor. A perfect beer for summer. Delirium (501), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is the usual German hefeweizen aroma of banana, clove, and wheat grain, though fairly restrained. Flavor is similar, with a bit more on the grain and yeast sides than the banana or spice. Pretty good, if a bit light.
