Oct 23, 2007 I like this style hefeweizen to be on the thicker side, unfiltered, dense, and cloudy. This was definitely too clear, too thin, and overfiltered for this style. It actually had the typical aromas of banana, clove, and wheat and it also tasted like the forementioned, plus a slight vanilla and fruity note. The mouthfeel was too thin, and the aftertaste lacked. Easy to drink though

Oct 23, 2007 On tap at Hofbrauhaus Munchen. This is the first beer of many. The first beer for my new bride and I, on our honeymoon trip through Europe. Prost! Pours a cloudy yellow with a fluffy white head in a HB .5 L hefeweizen glass. Light aroma of citrut malt and yeast. Smooth yeasty wheat flavors dominate with bananna and fruit. Fresh but still not that great.

Oct 6, 2007 A nicer beer than I had expected. I thought that it might be a bit skunked (green bottle, fairly obscure here in the US, etc), but it was very enjoyable. Nice strong banana aroma. Unfiltered and nice white head. Just a good wheat offering from HB. Certainly not the best ever, but a nice beer.

Oct 2, 2007 On tap at Clockenspiel, Munchen. Citrus nose. Yellow and golden colour. Formidable. Creamy delight. Enjoyable.

Oct 1, 2007 Bottle (brown) - 500ml. Nice cloudy golden body with an average white foamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty and citrusy notes. Taste is well balanced but lacks complexity. It ends with a fair bittersweet finish. Average Hefeweizen.

Sep 28, 2007 An excellent Hefeweizen, but slightly grainy in the finish. The taste is outstanding, with a crisp finish.

Sep 22, 2007 (Bottle) This beer was a typical Hefeweizen. It was grainy, a little fruity, and fairly light, and without any unpleasant sourness. It was enjoyable, perhaps a tad boring. Not really bitter at all. Not too sweet, however, and definitely not too heavy the way some wheat beers are. I’d take this over any of the more poorly-executed American wheat beers any day.
