| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Tasted from the bottle after an afternoon shift, so my taste buds were a little tired. Poured into a Weiss glass it failed to form a head, atop a hazy gold body, but had good lacing. Nice, sweet bubblegum and orange citrus aroma, with clove like phenols. The aroma didn’t follow through into the mouth, too well, and a heavily subdued hefe made me become more sleepy. Light carbonic bite in front, mildly sweet, crisp and light bodied. Almost tasted watered down as there was not much going on. Seemed to lack the necessary phenols and esters of a good Hefeweiss, and left me quite disappointed. Went to bed after that. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2005 New label. Poured a lightly cloudy orange and gold color. A medium sized white head at the start. Aroma is bananas and clove. Typical for the style. The taste is bananas and bread. There are also some lemons. Finishes with a black pepper spice. Nice medium body and soft carbonation. highlandlad (1261), Sydney, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Refreshing German hefeweizen. It poured a cloudy bronze colour (bottle conditioned) with a disappointingly brief head. As with other Hofbrauhaus beeers, the nose is dominated by bananas, with some yeasty esters. The palate is light and quenching. It has a refreshing green apple crispness to it. Very easy drinking. (Bottle) PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Cloudy, near bronze color, smallish head for the style. Aroma is surprisingly mild, a fair hint of banana is the most dominant feature. Smooth and rounded, light sweetness, not many esters or phenols, just a light hint of mint and banana. Still pleasant despite lacking strong character. Finishes easy. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2005 Pours hazy golden with enduring head. Yeasty aroma, orange peels. Flavor is dry and acidic, bitterness from yeast and carbonation but not from hops. Light body, easy drinking, nothing special. Cornfield (4956), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 13, 2005 This pours a hazy straw color with a short lived white head. The aroma is oddly soapy with a touch of lemon, reminding me of dishwashing liquid. The soft mouthfeel and taste were much nicer. Mildly malty and grainy, there’s some nice banana and clove flavors here. Very clean finish. Nothing great, but a decent drink.
