Commercial Description:
A flavorful amber lager with a slightly spicy hint of hops in flavor and finish. A little fuller with more malty character than our Hofbräu Lager. This beer was made to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig in this original form.

Draught in Pittsburgh location: This one poured a cloudy, amber tinged dark golden yellow color. It had a large white head that left lots of lacing. This one had a decent, although a bit lighter nose. Some earthiness and malts. The taste is good. Medium bodied, some malts, earthiness, just a hint of sweetness. This is very easy to drink.

Enjoyed via tap at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh in a one liter stein. The beer pours a medium amber color with a frothy white head that lasts several minutes. The aroma is slightly thing, giving an indication of pilsner malt, but little in terms of character malts or German noble hops. The palate also begins a bit insipid, giving a grainy malt character that is indicative of several other Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh beers. However, as the mid-palate comes to the fore, there is a distinct characteristic of Munich malt. This is paired with some earthy/spicy hop bitterness and flavor. Overall, nicely done, if a bit plain.
