mansquito (616), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Aug 29, 2007 Normal cheap crap. Has some more taste than the very worst beers of our world, but not enough to warrant drinking it. Descriptions are futile. Basically this is an Irish beer, given a German/Dutch name to compete with the crappy lagers that those two countries import to Ireland. Seeing as this has only three ratings, it is not competing well. bluevegie (1742), Perth, Australia Jul 17, 2006 18/05/06 Ireland. Good golden body with average white head. Nothing really stands out too much so it was fairly easy to drink, some grassy bitterness and a hint of corn. Jukkabro (2369), Tampere, Finland May 16, 2006 Standard lager color, medium sized vanishing white head. Corny and sweet, boring aroma. Thin bodied. Very dull flavor: slight corn and sweetness, aftertaste is slightly hopped and dry. Medium carbonation. ryaneq (9), McKinney, Texas, USA does not count May 28, 2003 Brewed by Guinness and once upon a time available throughout Ireland this beer is now only available in Waterford City, Ireland and the surrounding hinterland. Canned Hoffmans can ocassionally be found in other parts of Munster. Hoffmans is a refreshing alternative to Guinness' Harp Lager, but after the acquisition of Cheerys Brewery by Guinness production was quickly curtailed to ensure Harp remained the dominant Irish lager. Hoffmans has a very light complexion, is a very smooth beer to drink with little after taste. Very refreshing and a good choice for someone not in the mood to drink traditional Irish Ales or Stouts.
