Appearance: light haze on brown with hint of garnet. Lighter pleasantly contrasting fine top. 3+
Nose: malty nose with light hint of prunes, Italian plum and alcohol. Fairly traditional. 7-
Flavor/Palate : medium bodied with softer walls. Brown malt with hint of hazelnut , caramel and woody bitterness. Fairly smooth palate. Low carbonation. Late top end burn. One of mellower dark bocks. Very well presented . Perhaps bit unfinished feel yet this one can show its good side very well.

Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown with ruby edges. Short beige head. Aroma is strong malt and caramel, toasted bread, and spice. Taste is malty and rather sweet with more caramel, notes, sweet, chewy malts, light fruit, hint of brown sugar and dark bready flavors. Body is medium to medium-full while having a light carbonation feel. Ends with more caramel, chewy malt, light yeast, dark bread, fruit and brown sugar. Very nice stuff!

Oct 1, 2009 Bottle from Premier Gourmet. Didn’t expect so few ratings for this beer, cool.
Pours a murky deep red body full of carbonation. Small quick biege head left with a lasting ring. Aroma is full of apples, spice, berries, malt with some slight yeast notes. Medium, very warming mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet caramel, spicy bitterness. Candy, malty finish. Slight alcohol burn. Started off with a lot of carbonation but really smoothed out nicely. Pretty solid beer.

Oct 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours deep marroon with a thin and quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is yeast and brown sugar with a very faint touch of clove. Nice earthy, bready start, spicy middle and very sweet caramel finish which keeps building as it rests. Medium viscosity on the palate with very little carbonation. Very good, would definitely recommend it for a try.

Sep 30, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Color was brown with white head. Aroma was of cinnamon, caramel, and brown sugar. Taste was of honey and spice. Good beer.

Sep 26, 2009 Bottle sample at Noogfest High 5. Poured brown with an off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and brown sugar. The flavor found dark fruits, caramel malts, and a touch grainy. Medium body and sweet.

Sep 19, 2009 Bottle from knightly spirits. Good stuff. Brown pour. Dark dried fruits, raisins, vanilla, caramel, dates, honey and some star anise. Flavor is sweet and malty with dates, figs and honey. Really good stuff! Very cool beer.
