downender (1510), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from Sainsburys. Golden in colour with a big, off-white head and plenty of carbonation. Aroma of subdued citrus and creamy malts. Flavour was sweet, with a touch of butterscotch, chewy malt and a slightly dry finish. A bit lifeless. DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Aug 6, 2008 Cask, The Griffin Inn, Shustoke. Bright and yellowy with a nitro-like creamy softness. Drinks like water. Mildly sulpurous aroma with polite lemony hints. Straw, Malted Milk and oats. Nowhere near enough hop zing to satisfy. Clings with tedious mushy biscuit. Empty.
