| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 23, 2006 Bottle Pours a clear dark amber with a decent sized cramy light tan head. Thick sturdy lacing. Aromas are apple, vanilla light grains, some brown sugar. Flavor is very bland. Sweet woody malts and very littel hops. Soft carbonation. Slight papery trailer. Not very intersting. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Clear, pale and magnifying copper in color with a tight-packed, tan, doily looking tan head. Aroma spews forth bubblegum, copper, plastic chew toys, chestnut extract, vanilla and applewood. Flavor is ho hum. A pale lager meets marzen. Thinned caramel and balsawood take on chestnuts from Aldi. Stale peppered grains. Slightly brown sugared corn on the cob. Force carbonation is too much, otherwise, it’s medium-bodied and soliciting demands for a better beer to chase it. Finish is depredated by corn chex and bran flakes. Oh Huber. What are we going to do with you? Krazyjon (11), Pensacola, Florida, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 1, 2006 A headache in a bottle! Not sure why they even called it a marzen, when it’s nothing of the sort. Very disappointing, unless a headache is what you are going for. In that regard in excels. bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Too words.... "Not Cute". The only thing about a real marzen this holds is in the visual constituency alone. No head to speak of, but it does have a characteristic deep toasted color, with a faint citrusy-malt aroma. From there, we go downhill fast. It just tastes like watered hops, and not the best quality at that. It seems like a beer they said, "Hey, this isn’t great, so we’ll call it a marzen." Shame on them.... HarmonKill-a-Brew (320), Wilmar, Arkansas, USA

I’m actually a pretty big fan of this style so maybe i judge some of these too hard, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Not bad though. oldrtybastrd (1823), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 15, 2006 Medium amber with a small head. Malty aroma wtih hints of toffee. Malt and caramel flavor finished kinda weak. robpet (98), Stone Mountain, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2006 Here is the definition of this style:
"Amber to deep copper/orange. Malty sweetness, toasted malt aroma and flavor dominant. Medium body. Low to medium bitterness. Low hop flavor and aroma."
Not my favorite beer, but based on this definition, I think matches well. Low aroma, low hops. Flavor had a bit too much corn for me, but overall, good beer.
