pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Apr 27, 2009 Deep brown/ruby with an off white head. Aroma is roasty, light coffee. Taste is roasty, mild caramel, light chocolate. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Oct 17, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Black with a perfectly angular nitro head. Light chocolate aroma, but pretty muted overall. Nice coffee flavor with a bit of sweetness and a bitter hoppy and roasty finish. More body and sweetness than an irish stout, but still relatively dry and quite drinkable. The nitro squashes the body a bit, bit it retains enough life to be pleasant enough. Once the nitro head got out of the way, this was enjoyable. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Jul 15, 2008 From a nitro cask at the brewery. Pours with a large, tight, creamy, off-white head covering a dark brown body. Lots of sheets of lacing. Light coffee aroma. Taste is a bit of watery coffee. Watery expresso mouthfeel with light carbonation.
