BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 16, 2009 GABF 2009. Pours clear with a small, fizzy white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, grain, cereal, meal), heavy hop (flowers, grass, pine, resin, citrus), average yeast (sweat, musty) with notes of pineapple and apricot. Full bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. Notes of weed. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 15, 2009 Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and caramel flavor with light pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel lingers. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Oct 9, 2009 On-tap at Obriens. Not impressed. Pours clearish, copper amber with a big white head and sheet lace. Smells sweet and caramelly with a bit of deep, earthy hop scents. Tastes ok, very sweet and caramelly with some juicy, way overripe citrusy hops with some stone fruit. Ehhh. Medium/full body with subdued carbonation. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 3, 2009 GABF 2009, day 2: Super dank aromas were extremely inviting. Pungent, sharp and biting hop bitterness. Very tasty flavors. Big pine and fresh-cut grass. Rich, bready malts. Dry and bitter finish. Awesome beer. One of my favorites at the event. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Aug 18, 2009 Tap at Toronado 22nd Anniversary. Orangish-amber color with a nice small off-white head. Sweet malt and rough earthy/grassy/citrusy hops on the aroma. Flavor is caramel malt, earth, weed, and citrus with hop oils lingering on the palate. Fairly syrupy. Pretty solid DIPA overall. pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Jun 23, 2009 Nice amber hue, with a thin off white head. Aroma is wet hops, light citrus, hemp, light malt sweetness. Taste is nicely bitter, light caramel sweetness meshed with a smooth hoppiness. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Jun 3, 2009 On tap at Toronado SD. A surprising find. Color was dark orange with a small to medium khaki head. Aroma was really great; juicy, sweet and citrus. Flavor was earthy and citrus; quite aggressive. Nice lingering finish. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA May 25, 2009 Tap @ Toronado. Pours a mostly clear medium amber color with a faint reddish hue, head was small and beige in color. Nice musty citrus and resin in the nose while the flavor holds a strong caramel sweetness. Finishes with good assertive bitterness.
