Appearance is deep brown with little or no head. Aroma is of bitter sweetness, almost molassis with a slight bitter scent. Flavour is fairly sweet with a mollassis candy flavour and subtle malt finish. Boutip (2396), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2004 Can: Poured a dark brown beer with a nice above average head with good retention. Aroma is a mix of malt and mild sweetness. Taste was quite nice with some smooth malt and a subtle sweet finish with a good banana taste at the ends. Alcohol is well hidden which is always nice. The thin body and the subtle watery aftertaste was bit of a letdown but overall, I think this was a nice offering from a macro brewers – a bit underrated I feel… pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

Smooth mothfeel...nice mellow malt body and a cleanish finish with a sweet doughy after taste...not bad for a German mega brewer...fairly satisfying. beerbuzzmontreal (2922), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2004 Brown color with a thin offwhite head. Decent aroma of dark fruits and malt. Weak flavor of malt and dark fruits. Bitter finish. Light body, medium carbonation, slightly watery. Not too bad, but still it lacks character and the body is definitely too light for a bock. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 26, 2004 definitely malty, tastes of carmelized sugars and initial taste is very stout like tends to go south from there. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 19, 2004 Dark brown in colour with a malty, burnt sugar aroma. It had a very sweet fake-grape flavor to it, almost like grape kool-aid or grape crush. Hardly any hop presence at all, and very little carbonation. This isn’t really like any other bocks I’ve tried before, and I can’t say that I really liked this one. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2004 Tallboy can. Dark chestnut color, thin tan head, fully diminishing. Aroma is pretty malty, a little sweet, some metal though. Flavor was fairly sweet, a bit of caramel but again I got some metallic notes. Pretty thin. Not bad, better than their maibock. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2004 Canned- Pours a dark body with a thin caramel coloured head. In the nose I am getting malt and dried meat. Taste is semi-sweet maltiness. Alcohol isn’t noticable which makes this a very easy to drink strong bock beer. tastes pretty good considering it came out of a can. Nice.
