Oct 20, 2008 it has a slightly harsh but very flavourful nose that smells like burnt malt and sweetness. its appearance is actually very nice being very dark with a large brown head. it tastes like burnt grains, is pretty sweet and some unusual nut flavours. this beer is a high class style attempted on a budget and in its price/alcohol range it is alot better than boring pale lagers or malt liquors. the flavour of this is a bit harsh but at least one of the most interesting in the cheap beer category.

Biere de couleur rouille tres foncé, avec un bon collet moyennement collant. Odeur de bois sec, un peu fleural et alcohol. Gout un peu sucré , bananes, un peu épicés et des noix. Bonne biere en général.

Sep 2, 2008 Surprenant!, cette biere est tres foncée. Cependant elle sent pas grand chose. Coté gout, le petit coté Allemand se fait gouter avec une minime touche caramelisé, le tout sur un léger arriere gout d’ alchol dont on a pas besoin.

Aug 29, 2008 Looks nice, dark brown with red, nice thick head. Not much aroma. Cardboard with a bit of caramel malt, a touch of hops. thoroughly unappetizing. Drab flavor. dark malt, caramel, cardboard. This is crap. A beer for winos in Europe.

Aug 9, 2008 Updated: Aug 12, 20080.5 L can from Liquor Store. Malty and dark caramel nuts aroma is prevalent. Dark brown with red tinge and large foamy beige hed. Full bodied and with flavours of malts, caramel, burnt almonds??, and yeast. Litterally no carbonation. Far superior to Holsten pils.

Aug 4, 2008 [1263-20080405] 500mL can. Alcohol grain malt aroma with generically mouldy toast yeast. Clear, dark amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Thick grainy malt flavour with sweet toasted yeast. Thick medium body. Fair, best of the trio tonight (Premium, Maibock, Festbock).

Dark copper poor, reddish hues, thin beige foamy head.
Aromas:
Plums, alcohol, caramelised malts, faint... something spice i can’t seem to put
my finger on.
Palate:
Sweet hits you right off the bat, alcohol, perfect carbonation for this beer,
medium body, faint bitternes that is somewhat longlasting...
Flavors:
Nutty.alcohol comes back again, hints of plums, malts and that SPICE i can’t put my finger on..........
Notes: strong notes of alcohol overall
