May 12, 2003 They can keep this beer back in Europe. Pale yellow with no head. Light skunky aroma with of course lemons and citrus, artificial at that. Sweet with a slight bitterness that hangs in the roof of your mouth and the back of your tounge. I belive I am starting to have an ill feeling, sugar water.

May 11, 2003 Pale yellow, with a light white head. The nose is lightly skunked with citrusy lemon notes and a light hint of ginger. Very sweet body, spritzy and citrusy with a light bitterness towards the end. Nice try. The LCBO making a mockery of beer variety.

May 9, 2003 (275ml Bottle) My guess is that Canada has been selected as the NATO nation to accept crap German beer that couldn't be sold on the homefront. I've noticed no-one from Germany has tried this? Pours no head and a clear, pee-yellow body. Aroma of lemon cough drops. Tastes horrible. The 'fusion' is obviously not the scientific lead it took to generate this beer...

May 8, 2003 Dusty lemon with few drops of prime skunk . Yeah there is some loemon flavour in it but after that in this watery brew we have bitter unpleasant off- ings . Where is the fun ?

May 7, 2003 Lemon, hops aroma, pale yellow, short lived head. Corn, with lemon taste, too sweet. Corona with lemon, not a very pleasant drink.

May 2, 2003 Golden, lacking carbonation. Fake lemon aroma, like Saxer Lemon Lager. Candyish lemon flavours. A kiss of malt is the only bit of beer here. Fizzy crackle adds a little crispness in the finish to offset the cloying lemon extract. Evaluated as a beer, it is poor, but it gets a good Overall Impression number because it is a lot like Saxer Lemon Lager, which I used to love sitting on the deck overlooking the Fraser River during my university summers. Recapturing that here in Toronto might be tough, but nostalgia helps me drink this whereas I don't imagine too many other Ratebeerians would want a second bottle.

Mar 3, 2003 Bottled. Gold colour, low head and moderate condition. Dominant lemon citrus aroma, oversweet and acidic in the mouth and overdry in the finish. Holsten Pils used to be advertised in the UK by "clever" use of anagrams of the name. One anagram of Holsten Fusion is "foul neon shits", which should be enough to put anyone off.
