50cl can, Shelburne. Deep golden colour, thick tasting, very sweet. Better maibock’s available, but not as bad as some reviews.

500ml Can: I’ve had this one sitting around a long, long time. Finally gathered up the nuts to give it a shot tonight. Pours copper in colour, almost no head to start, and none at all within seconds. Aroma is poor, somewhat harsh.. you can tell there’s alcohol here. The booze really comes through the in the taste, overbearingly so. How Unibroue can make 9% disappear and these guys make 7% feel like a kick in the pills is beyond me. Sadly, while I detected a subtle sweet note, the alcohol just takes over far too much to enjoy any nice tones that may exist. Poor.

500 mL can. Bronze with almost no head. Strongish aroma of roasted apples, maybe cinnamon, with a hint of alcohol at the end. Very malty. Taste of sweet (roasted?) fruit, alcohol, maybe a little caramel. Mild aftertaste is briefly bitter, then sweet.

Canette de 500 ml. Couleur jaune foncé, peu de collet. Arome de malte de caramel faible et peu impressionnant. Goût de caramel alcoolisé ennuyant. Zzzzzzzz!

Golden body with a small white head. Smell of toasted bread and butterscotch. Taste of dead dry leaves, cereals and butterscotch. It’s not that it tastes bad, it’s just not very tasty and the little it tastes is rather boring. Gets more caramelized and remains as boring when it warms up. One of the worst thing to hit my neighbourhood during the month of May after those @%$!* mayflies.

500ml can, deep honey gold color, with a frothy white head, bready dough, hint of floral hops, light malty aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty malt, grainy and bready accents, caramelized malt, hint of fruitiness, leading towards a hint of vanilla spiciness and toasty, light hoppiness finish.

Lack some oomph! But still a good beer. Mouthfeel is smooth. Pours something like a golden colour, with almost no head.

Really not that special, lacks nuttiness and baked-sweet qualities and is two dinensional. Mainstreambock.
