Yellow color, fine head which doesn’t last really long. Aroma sweet and skunky. Starts sweet and continues fuller with some malt. Finishes drier without getting bitter. Light dry aftertaste with some malty spice. Pretty lean and crisp. A little bit bothering my palate to much. Medium body. Top 10 seller in Germany. Most popular beer from Hamburg.

I had this in England and the can was yellow and the name was slightly different ... Holsten pils. Had enough hops, light malt, spice, and sweet floral nose. Not much complexity. Great head that vanished too quickly.

The aftertaste is very sickly, found it to be abit to tangy.

I most say that I found this beer far different on tap than out of the can. If you have a choice go with the draught; if left with the alternative keep walking.

Probably the first German lager that many people in Britain tried. As such its a good introduction before moving on to the more tasty one’s. Nevertheless it has a pleasant pale appearance and a light refreshing taste. Quite unique in its taste yet easy to knock -not to be turned down on a warm summers day.

tastes average...doesn’t stand out in the crowd, just another pilsener.

Bottled - 330ml (imported). Pale appearance - medium carbonation. Light , hoppy bitterness. Tasty & drinkable.
