12oz bottle. Pours very deep brown, nearly opaque, with a small tan head. Roasted chocolate malt aroma, with coffee, cocoa, nut, and dark fruit. Rich roasted coffee flavor, with chocolate, smoke, and a nice fruity pomegranate finish. Nice stout; the pomegranate works surprisingly well.

Bottle: Dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasty aroma with coffee and chocolate. Rather sweet. Tastes roasty, but sweet. Lots of dark chocolate plus a light fruity edge. Must be the pomme... Remains smooth and silky. Thanks Mcbackus.

12 oz bottle. 2008. Pours a deep dark brown almost black with a thinning fizzy head. aroma is dark chocolate nuts, fruity esters, and some pomegranate juice and a finishing mineral almost metallic cherry pit character. More pomegranate fruit in the flavor but not out of control just fits in ok- with chocolate malts, sweet caramel and other fruits like figs and apple. Slightly more metallic and astringent in the finish. I remember the tap version being a bit fuller bodied and not quite as astringent but my notes are only from the bottle.

Thanks to Daknole. Pours dark, dark brown with hints of red color. Head is light brown, mostly diminishing. The aroma is coffee, a roasted sweetness, smells great! The taste is coffe, a roasted nutty taste, a little bitter but a hint of sweetness. A damn good beer Thanks again Daknole!

pours black with a thin mocha head...poor retention. aroma is red winey...prob. due to the pomegranate. also has light roastiness and chocolate and a bit of an alcohol smell. flavor is fruity..pomegranate...upfront with some light chocolate and a faint chalky sourness. mouthfeel is lightly creamy and the finish lingers with roasty dark fruit. interesting but a little too winey for me.

2008 Bottle - Thanks to Ibrew2or3 - Pours a deep brown with very little ash tan head...aroma is chocolatey malt, mature dark fruit..flavour is fairly dry, a bit of carob and slightly astringent...heavy carbonation, good flavour on the front that keeps up, finishes a bit thin but with nice smoke...didn’t get any pom, but oh well...fun beer!...

Local trade with Daknole. Dark. Black dark. Latte colored foam. Smoky and dark fruit nose. Coffee and sweet too. Taste is crisp. Light in the mouth. Not sticky at all for a beer this dark. Pretty yummy.

Pours a dark brown, nearly black with a thin caramel head... Aroma is a bit milky, like a milk stout, chocolate, notes of chocolate, notes of berry, dominated by the sweet milkiness... Much more carbonated than i would expect.... Roasty, milky, notes of chocolate, notes of coffee, followed by the pomegranate i was expecting from the label... I actually like the addition, though i must say i am a huge fan of pomegranate juice... The carbonation in the mouthfeel is a bit unsettling... Medium full bodied, no alcohol taste... Lingering roastiness, the pomegranate flavor comes and goes rather quickly...
