imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Jan 26, 2009 12oz. from Daknole. Poured into mug. Pour is mightnight black with small brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, cherries, and a slight hop note. Flavor is fiarly balanced with chocolate, roasted malts, some sour fruit, and finishing rather thin. A very different beer than what I thought it would be from the description. I liked this one alot. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear black body with a small fizzy dark brown head that ran to a thin ring quickly. The nose is very roasty with a nice dark chocolate note and maybe a lightly sour note as well? Some dark fruits, but nothing I can peg as pomegranate. There is some pomegranate flavor here, especially on the back end, but it’s still mostly roast, burnt malt, and dark fruits. No noticeable alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with some slight clinginess that coats the mouth well and leaves a long lingering finish. OK, but not a stand-out or something I would seek out again. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Jan 23, 2009 Pours a deep opaque brown, like dark chocolate, with a nice tan head. Smoky aroma is strongly of fine roast coffee and has a hint of pomegranate. Mouth-filling flavor has tones of coffee and unsweetened chocolate as well as a pomegranate hint. Mouthfeel is lively and tingly, and finish is pleasingly smooth. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA Jan 23, 2009 12oz bottle from GodofThunder pours deep black with a ring of oily tan head. Roasty, alcohol, and dark fruit aromas. Slightly thin body with a coffee and earthy flavor. Some fruit in there that tastes alot like cherries. Very smooth. No bitterness, but a bit of dryness at the end. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2009 Black color with a small off-white head. Roasty aroma with some pomegranate and bunt popcorn. Roasty flavor slightly bun, slightly sour, with pomegranate flavors. discogoatboy (15), , Florida, USA Jan 20, 2009 It pours dark with minimal head. Definite roasted flavors with strong dark chocolate overtones. Much more carbonation on the palate than the minimal head would give an indication of. Slight pomegranate taste which is not easily noticeable over the chocolate and coffee overtones. It’s a delicious brew. DalzAle (476), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Jan 19, 2009 Bottle received as a bonus from Beerlando (thanks). Pour is dark black with a slowly dissipating head. Aroma was of Dark chocolate and a hint of pomegranate and smoke. Flavor was noticable coffee, toasty malts, smoke and nice and fruity all the way through. Would love to get this again, or will try to find this the next time I’m in FL. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jan 19, 2009 (12oz bottle) th diss beige head w near opaq bdy.
