Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate barley and roasted grains paired with American hops and Belgian yeast create a mouthful of flavors, but wait thats not all, add a hint of pomegranate juice and what you have here is not your run of the mill fruit beer. You've hit the mother load. At 8%ABV this ale is suitablefor aging 1-2 years. Brewed by Florida Beer Co for Gordash Brewing.

In short: A modest and soft imperial stout with a not-so-great pomegranate/red apples fruity character. Just ok.
How: Bottle 12oz. Many sources. This bottle from WeeHeavySD. Probably almost one year of age when I drank it.
The look: Black body topped by a dark beige ring of foam.
In long: Nose is lightly roasted, with some black chocolate and red apples. Taste is rather boring. Relative to the style the body is slim. Carbonation is soft, a bit too soft. Taste has some old black coffee, some roastiness, some molasses, some dark fruits and McIntosh red apples (!?). It could have a been a very average Imperial Stout but the addition of pomegranate juice moves it below average. Fortunately the pomegranate thing is not overdone, almost subtle, but even a little of it is too much for me. Pomegranate is as essential to make a good stout as a curry spices are to make a good yogurt.

Aroma is very port-like...with hints of dark fruits, alcohol, chocolate and toffee. Flavor is similar, with the pomegranate coming through in the end. Very unique, and tasty, imp stout.

(Rating #2337)

Bottle. Pours dark brown, letting a good amount of light through. Unacceptable for an impy as I’ve learned from Ethan. Nose is roasty and fruity--no doubt from the pomegranate juice. Flavor is a weird mix of pomegranate juice, roasted malts and chocolate. Kind of a thin mouthfeel and body and just kinda weird. Tastes like your run of the mill fruit beer with some cocoa added. The belgian yeast character seems out of place in this beer, but isn’t that noticeable overall. Meh.

Bottle shared at the Beer Wars preparty. Poured a solid black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma had a wierd roasty/sweet combo like fruit and dark chocolate that just wasnt working. Luckily the flavor was much better with the sweetness blending much better and notes of vanilla and chocolate with a sweet finish. The body is a little on the the thin side but overall an enjoyable beer.

Thanks Daknole. Dark cola pour with a tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. The roast flavor is balanced with the sweetness. Neither one overpowers the other. Finishes off with a hint of sweetness and dry maltiness. Alcohol isn’t noticeable.

Bottle from Dakine, thanks Dak. Pours a dark black with a medium to large tan head that falls off quickly. Sweet berry notes, chocolate syrup, roast. Thin to medium bodied. Starts off with a huge rush of sweetness, that was most unexpected. The pomegranate comes through big time here and is quite interesting. Finishes with a nice roast bitterness.
