Pours out a nice black color with a good sized tan head on it. Smell is fruity as shit, full of pomegranate and thats really about it. I didnt pick up alot of the roasted malts and coffee / chocolate flavors that I have become accustomed to. Taste was sweet, pretty fruity, somewhat thin and left me questioning if this is really an imperial stout. Different, but that isnt to say that different is always good. Perhaps something that may become thicker with age and lose some of that raspberry jelly fake smell / taste. Thanks Daniel. This was an ultra rare gem pulled from the farthest reaches of the cellar. shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Phillybeer2112. 2008 Vintage. Pour is black, with a tan one inch head. Some brief settling on the pour. Aroma of red wine, dark fruits, some sour and a coffee roast underneath. Very much a wine nose. Taste is roast coffee, the pomegranate and a sour bitterness that is a little disjointed from the rest of the flavors. Interesting attempt, but the flavors are too disjointed and un-integrated for my liking. Palate is medium, chalky, with a long dry roasty finish. Thanks for sending this my way Dan. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2008 Pours fairly flat though a few large bubbles do appear, lacing is nil. Was able to rouse up a nice small light brown head but that dropped quickly. Yup, it,s black alright. Faint nose of chocolate and roast with other faint fruity notes. Body is medium, sorta thin for an Impy. Lightly coating on the palate. Soft flavors of roast, coffee, chocolate, light fruitiness and berryish notes, hint of licorice, and somewhat sweet malts. Lightly sweet finish, dark chocolate with a little tang, hmmmm. Props to oldstylecubfan for the bottle! Odeed (1677), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2008 Blackish pour with a small beige head. Aroma is very roasty and smoky with a bit of charred wood and coffee. Flavor has some smoky wood and coffee in there - light hops. Smooth, but unremarkable. Not bad, especially for a Florida brew. douglas88 (1661), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

The aroma is strong coffee, some fruit juice, and a buttery sweet note. The flavor was similar, lots of coffee mixed with sweet fruit juice, not bad but odd. I dont care much for the buttery finish. Overall though, not bad and pretty nice. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2008 Pours a beautiful near black with dark, barely perceivable garnet highlights and a fair brown head that quickly fades to a miniscule thin ring of head. Great chocolate aroma. Flavor tastes sweet, molasis, caramel, and slightly burnt. Body is medium and lightly carbonated. Cloying sweetness in the finish. I don’t detect any fruit until the aftertaste. Very enjoyable.
