At 1st the chocolate slams into you and after that its little brother, the pommegrante comes by and kicks you some more.Well balanced beer, getting all the flavors intended. Also there was some vinous grape notes, wine like here. The finish had some tanginess to it.Well done. It has lots of roasted coffee in the aroma and a bit of tangy pom. The acidity of the pomegranate compliments the roasted malt flavors PERFECTLY. Seriously fantastic tasting. I need more. The flavor has this influence, along with a cloying sweetness that makes it just odd. pantanap (1375), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours a dark black with a medium to large tan head that falls off quickly. Sweet berry notes, chocolate syrup, roast. Thin to medium bodied. Starts off with a huge rush of sweetness, that was most unexpected. The pomegranate comes through big time here and is quite interesting. Finishes with a nice roast bitterness. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2008 Bottle compliments of daknole. Dark black pour with tan ring of small bubbles around the edge. Big aroma of dark roasted coffee and dusty chocolate. Pleasant flavour of more chocolate and coffee, definitely some dark fruits in the middle and then finishes like chocolate milk. Not an Impy stout that’s going to knock you over but a great drink. JMerritt (1327), Macomb, Illinois, USA

Pours opaque black with a medium-sized light brown head that is partially-to-mostly diminishing. Dark cocoa nose with some light roast (coffee) - rather light aroma overall. Mildly sweet flavor up front, a touch of berry sweetness sneaks in (but barely), followed closely with bittersweet cocoa, black coffee and a bit of tea. Finish is very, very nutty - peanuts and sunflower seeds. With further sips, the pomegranate is quite a bit more noticeable, and the nutty finish remains. zathrus13 (1318), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
