Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with a thin mocha colored head. Aromas are of pomegranate seeds, rotten cherry skins, something foul.
Flavors are something foul too. Rotten cabbage, cooked corn (DMS), dried oak bark. Not too tasty. Medium mouthfeel, medium body.
Not a good beer IMHO. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2008 Tap. Pours black with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, and bakers chocolate. Taste is the same as aroma with hints of dark fruit and pomegranate. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Updated: Jun 5, 2008On tap at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a pitch black color, with tons of fluffy white head, and very thick, creamy lacing. Roasted malts hit the nose first, and esters of fruit (hard to tell what) and distant hops. Roasted nutty flavors, coffee, and some malty pomegranate. Peach and hops finish things out. Bitter touch, easy to drink. Body is full but still easy enough to digest. Wouldn’t call this a textbook imperial stout, but a very nice addition to the style. kkearn (1003), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours very deep brown, nearly opaque, with a small tan head. Roasted chocolate malt aroma, with coffee, cocoa, nut, and dark fruit. Rich roasted coffee flavor, with chocolate, smoke, and a nice fruity pomegranate finish. Nice stout; the pomegranate works surprisingly well. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Pours a medium, black body with foamy but somewhat thin beige head. Bitter chocolate and some mild fruity notes on the nose. The flavor is bitter coffee and chocolate, with an underlying grapefruit juice taste that takes over the finish. A little astringant at first which makes it even more reminiscent of grapefruit juice. stefanje (944), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours an opaque black color with a small tan head that soon diminishes. The aroma is rich with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and a bit of coffee. The taste is not quite up to the high expectations set by the aroma. The flavor is mostly coffee, mocha and dark chocolate, but the palate is a bit off. The mouthfeel is thin and acidic. The finish is long with lingering cocoa. Overall: Strengths outweigh flaws, A very tasty stout. Thanks Dakine. shawnm213 (941), South Bend, Indiana, USA
