A purply black color with no head but nice lacing. Miver (565), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of chocolate malt, dark fruits, mild roast. Tastes of smooth sweet chocolate, dark fruits, nuts, and molasses. Nice body, smooth mouth feel. Actually a bit better then I was expecting. This was certainly very drinkable. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Courtesy of many people during mystery swap 3.0. Pours a opaque cola color with a small foamy dark brown head. Nose is faint, cocoa, mild fruits and mollasses. Initial taste taste of cocoa, caramel, red fruits but pomegranates are hard to detect here. Tangy lactic notes and mild coffee on the mid palate. Finishing vinously, with cocoa and mild fruits continuing and very mild hop balance. The alcohol is indeed well hidden if this gravity is correct. Moutfeel is good, silky, smooth, good carbonation. Touch of cream in there too. Good palate duration. Medium body with average head retention. Easy drinking and tasty. Far from complex for an imperial stout, but respectable. Thin head, with clinging lacing. Great aroma, full of cocoa, coffee, and cream. Solid yeast and malty backbone on the aroma and flavor. Flavor is rich and dark - coffee, cream, oats, grains, and dark fruit swirl in and out of the palate. Strong coffee flavor up front, with subtle notes of chocolate that come and go. Grab one of these, if you don’t, you’re missing out guyinchicago (526), marengo, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle. Thanks to Daknole for the trade. Pours a deep black, with a medium espresso colored head, some lacing. Head dissipates rapidly. First impression of this beer after the first sip was drain pour. After a few more sips, the complexity started to come out. Chocolate malts lead into a bitter/sour fruity dry flavor, something like pomegranate but could also be mistaken for cranberry. Fizzy on the palate. Finish is lingering and dry.
