The appearance is dark brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma and bad. The palate is thick. I am so confused by this oddest of beers. puzzl (2621), New York, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 15, 2008 Nice fruit in the aroma with a underlying stoutiness. Ripe, rich fruit up front in the flavor but falls into a muddy, peanuty grossness with a watery, milky finish. Blech. I like the fruit though. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Bottle: Thin looking pour with wispy tan bubbles for head. Has an odd aroma of roast and candy notes of purple grape and artificial/perfumy fruit hints. Somewhat watery feel for an Imperial Stout. Odd flavors upfront of tart jam/jelly character and grape lollipop. The fruit tartness seems artificial and isn’t harmonious with the late mocha-like roasted malt character. Not very cohesive, but interesting and points for the effort of combining a Stout with Pomegranates. Pailhead (2593), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle : Big chocolate aroma with moderate pomegranate. It pours a dark brown with some orange hilights and a small tan head. The flavor starts with lots of chocolate. Lots of sugary sweetness in the middle with moderate pomegranate juice. There is some light roasted coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A little too sweet for my preferences. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Appearance: Onyx black body with a thin, thought creamy-looking, light tan head.
Smell: Aroma smelling of espresso and succulent fruit with secondary notes of semisweet chocolate and toffee.
Taste: Dark, roasty maltiness with sweet tastes of chocolate and toffee candy. Moderate sweetness. Underlying fruitiness like a splash of both subtly tart POM Juice and prune liqueur. Tiny bit of aniseed. Very mild hop character and bitterness, leaving the punchy roastiness to counter the sweetness. Still though, this one finishes a bit sweetish and definitely fruity.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Smooth and fruity (without being too fruity) thanks to the addition of health-inducing pomegranate juice. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2008 2008. Pours to a black body with a thin tan head. The aroma is like a German chocolate cake with a raspberry jam. The flavor has a dry roasted chocolate and German chocolate cake thing. Subtle fruit. The palate is extremely light and thin. Falls off the tongue. Very good but the palate doesn’t fit. Bockyhorsey (2541), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2008 Sampled at Bocky Bash on 7-5-08. Smoke and coffee on the nose for aroma. Black body with tan head. Good roasted coffee flavor with hint of sweet fruits in the background. Good stuff another black beauty tasted that day. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
