| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Very dark beer with a head like a Coke. It poured a dark brown color and then very noisily fizzed away to nothing. Dark roasted grain nose with some chocolate and berry tones. I’m not sure what pomegranites smell like, but it could smell like them. Lots of roasted grains in the flavor with burnt sugar, overly sweetened coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and a grape/sour cherry flavor that I assume is the pomegranite. It gets almost smokey/ashen as it warms. Very flavorful beer bierkoning (6103), La Tropica, Netherlands

Sweetish, fruity, roasty, salty flavor with licorice. Medium to full bodied, smooth beer. WisconsinBeer (536), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle. Thanks to Daknole for the trade. Pours a deep black, with a medium espresso colored head, some lacing. Head dissipates rapidly. First impression of this beer after the first sip was drain pour. After a few more sips, the complexity started to come out. Chocolate malts lead into a bitter/sour fruity dry flavor, something like pomegranate but could also be mistaken for cranberry. Fizzy on the palate. Finish is lingering and dry. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Opaque black pour with a small, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee laced with fruit. Flavor is full of bittersweet chocolate and sugary roasted malt. Very little pomegranate to speak of, which is nice. Just a subtle fruity sweetness. Very good. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Beerlando. Dark black pour with a thin, dark tan head. Aroma of sour pomegranate and cocoa. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is very different. Initially, it is quite fruity, but that quickly gives way to sweet chocolates and roasted malt. Finish has a touch of bitterness with some smoky notes as well. Interesting beer, well done. TomDecapolis (3221), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Pours a deep black with a dark bubbly/creamy tan head that left sticky lacing down the side of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, cherries, citrus notes, fruity notes from the mix of pomegranate along with the Belgian yeast strain they used. Flavor of this roasted malt which is followed quickly by the pomegranate, some hop flavor, citrus, piney notes, chocolate, coffee and some Belgian yeast esters. Palate dries out as this one lingers. Roastiness comes forward although the pomegranate juice is still there but not over the top.
