Aromas of roasted malts, cherries, and a slight hop note. Flavor is fiarly balanced with chocolate, roasted malts, some sour fruit, and finishing rather thin. A very different beer than what I thought it would be from the description. I liked this one alot. ditmier (1100), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma is dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate and berry. Flavor is very ROAST forward with a hint of pomegranate in the finish. Drinks more like a porter than the Impy it’s classified as. Interesting. drowland (1417), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Aroma is all coffee with a hint of fruity sweetness that is almost unidentifiable if you don’t know the beer. The taste is a big fruity sweet malt stout with definite fruit sweetness added, but not necessarily noted as pomegranate. Not too bad, but not amaaazing. j12601 (1308), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Pours a dark black with a medium to large tan head that falls off quickly. Sweet berry notes, chocolate syrup, roast. Thin to medium bodied. Starts off with a huge rush of sweetness, that was most unexpected. The pomegranate comes through big time here and is quite interesting. Finishes with a nice roast bitterness.
