Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate barley and roasted grains paired with American hops and Belgian yeast create a mouthful of flavors, but wait thats not all, add a hint of pomegranate juice and what you have here is not your run of the mill fruit beer. You've hit the mother load. At 8%ABV this ale is suitablefor aging 1-2 years. Brewed by Florida Beer Co for Gordash Brewing.

Had on draft at Redlight. It is my very humble oppinion that this beer was served WAY too cold...Beautiful pour in my glass. Dark brown with a nice creamy head. My very first impression was not good...So I let it warm up. It definitely got better. Nice roasted coffee and chocolate taste with just enough of a bitter sweetness added by the pomegranate presence. I would have liked it a bit sweeter, but this was very good. There was a slight "burnt" after taste that kind of was a detractor for me.

Very good stout on draft at OTH. Holy Mackerel does it again with an a great stout. Flavors are diverse with the hint of pomegranate evident. Other flavors are malty and roasted.

bottle poured into a snifter.... this is a nice beer.... unique and very enjoyable, which is a surprise to me coming from this contract brewer. a semi-transparent black pour which enters the glass much darker with a nice big tan head... it eventually settles down to a thin lacing which lasts throughout. some aromas of sweet malts, a touch of chocolate and a bit of yeast. medium body that carries some deeper notes of coffee, chocolate, dark fruit and a sweeter malt character... upon the finish the tart and lovely pomegranate juice comes forward to round off a unique twisted imperial stout. the juice adds a great element to this beer that one does not normally experience in this category... its on the border of being sour but develops into a more robust and layered experience.... very nice.

From bottle : Pours very dark black and a small thin brown head with a little bit of spotty lacing. Nose is big time coffee and expresso, and thats about it. Taste is much the same, coffe and expresso, with the expresso dominating the aftertaste. Medium thick body, but pretty smooth. Alot better then what i went in expecting, a pretty solid impy stout.

Aroma is very port-like...with hints of dark fruits, alcohol, chocolate and toffee. Flavor is similar, with the pomegranate coming through in the end. Very unique, and tasty, imp stout.

Bottle. Pours near black with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma, with dark berries, dark chocolate and a hint of smoke. A lot going on in the flavor. Roasted malt and sweeter notes of chocolate and pomegranate give way to smoked malt and tobacco, which lingers in a finish which again recalls hints of sweeter fruits. Strange and original, but I think it works rather well.

Thanks daknole. Black pour with a one-finger tan head that fizzles down to a spotty film of lace. Aroma of smoke, anise, and berries. Flavor profile combines sweet and burnt elements perfectly. Begins with maple sugar and molasses, then the backbone is like liquid toast with a berry and licorice jam. Never cloying despite the sweetness. Full body, has a nice buzz of small-bubble effervescence in the mouth.

Rich, chocolate raisin aroma Dark color with a small brownish head Strong malty flavor. Fruit flavor is very mild. Flavor gets more complex as it warms up.
