Nose is big time coffee and expresso, and thats about it. Taste is much the same, coffe and expresso, with the expresso dominating the aftertaste. Medium thick body, but pretty smooth. Alot better then what i went in expecting, a pretty solid impy stout. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

Flavor is similar, with the pomegranate coming through in the end. Very unique, and tasty, imp stout. blipp (1766), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours near black with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma, with dark berries, dark chocolate and a hint of smoke. A lot going on in the flavor. Roasted malt and sweeter notes of chocolate and pomegranate give way to smoked malt and tobacco, which lingers in a finish which again recalls hints of sweeter fruits. Strange and original, but I think it works rather well. noncaloric (631), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Black pour with a one-finger tan head that fizzles down to a spotty film of lace. Aroma of smoke, anise, and berries. Flavor profile combines sweet and burnt elements perfectly. Begins with maple sugar and molasses, then the backbone is like liquid toast with a berry and licorice jam. Never cloying despite the sweetness. Full body, has a nice buzz of small-bubble effervescence in the mouth. Dark color with a small brownish head
Strong malty flavor. Fruit flavor is very mild. Flavor gets more complex as it warms up. bhensonb (4389), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Bottle from Josh. Pours really dark brown with a foamy 3-finger dark tan head. Aromas of creamy burnt malt. Medium body with creamy foamy carbonation. Flavor is berry, smooth burnt malt and a touch of something hoppy/spicey. Overall this is a very good flavor. I think the pomegranite is distinguishable after some time. A bit thin for an IS, but it is really very tasty. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2009 Sample from a bottle in the VIP tent at WBF Raleigh on 5/2/09. Multiple samples from this one as well. Black pour. Short, dense brown head. Nose is odd. Fruit notes, roasted malts, dark chocolate, light soy sauce and coffee. Then we were told this had pomegranate fruit in it. That explains it! Taste was more roasted malts, fruit notes, dark chocolate, and light coffee. Light tartness to this as well. Body is medium with a mild carbonation. Ends with more fruit notes, chocolate, coffee and sweet and roasted malts. Very good! Everyone in our party enjoyed this one.
