Poured a really weak yellow color with a white head. Aroma is hard to pick out, very week, a bit of spices and some yeast. Flavor was also pretty bland, a lot of sickening candy sugar sweetness with some metallic notes in there. Blah.

7-9-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to Ibrew2or3
Clear tea amber color - that looks like watered down tea with head. Smell is sweet funky yeast. I like it - it is an interesting mix but just a little too light and subtle. Flavor - not too drinkable or yummy. Funky flavor and finish.

12oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. A decent approximation of a strong golden ale, this one has a very piquant fruity aroma, with just a trace of yeast and hops in there. Alas, the wit-like flavors tend to dominate during the tasting, a bit artificial and cloying. I wanted a cleaner, drier finish that would have given this brew some balance. As it is, it’s a decent middle of the road beer. But in a crowded sub-field I’m not sure I’d go back to this one too much.

Thanks to Daknole for sending me the bottle. Aroma is belgian yeast, banana, and quite sweet. Taste is quite sweet as well, more banana, sugar dipped fruit, and some yeast. This ended up being really sweet, and I don’t mind sweet beers, but couldn’t quite handle it.

Bottle as an extra from Ibrew2or3. Thanks!
Pours a clear amber with a small whitish head. Smell is yeasty, fruity, and sweet with belgium yeast as well. Taste is a bit too sweet, with yeastiness and fruitiness as well. Strong belgian character from the yeast but overall, just too sweet for my liking. Not bad though.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with daknole (thanks!). Bottle labeled 2007. Poured a deeper and murky golden color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of fruitiness, bananas, some spiciness, and some candi sugar. Tastes of fruits, bananas, lighter spiciness, and some sugary sweetness. Alcohol content well hidden.

A very good ale. This beer is gaining popularity in South Florida and I could see it moving beyond. I would say its bitter-sweet and certainly has a bite to the taste.
