Mild, dark chocolate comes out more in the finish. The nose is only mildly aromatic and offers notes of chocolate and dark roast. Medium in body and carbonation level. Dark-brown body is opaque through the center. Small, tan head settles to a sprinkling of powder and thin ring. This is another relatively standard offering from Homer Brewing, a beer that seems about average for the style. Very drinkable and enjoyable, with no noticeable flaws, though more pronounced aromatics would help. iamsancho16 (99), USA

A nice dark brown color though needs some work on the head (like all the beers from this brewery). Warm, well-balanced mocha taste, with some nice floral hops in the finish. The best of the 5 beers available in ol’ Homer AK. Braudog (3758), Dayton, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2005 Filled at the brewery in a 20 oz. screw cap SoBe bottle. Ruddy caramel-brown body with decent carbonation and a small grayish head. Aroma of dark fruity malt, light chocolate and an interesting cinnamon character. Flavor features dark malts very well without too much roast character. Above threshold diacetyl but not off-putting. Medium-light body. Good porter. This beer held up very well to the long road from Homer to Albuquerque. Thanks Stan!
