savnac (394), Palmer, Alaska, USA Jun 15, 2009 On tap @ Duggan’s. Cloudy light amber with a very small head. Mellow aroma with light hints of bready malt and floral hops. Flavor is very mildly sweet with a balanced bitterness. Light body, crisp but with a butterscotch finish. Not bad, just nothing special and had a hard time smelling or tasting the NW hops. Gurst (338), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Aug 25, 2008 Light sweet malts pair nicely with light floral hops. Some grassy notes in the finish. I got a kind of sugar cereal aroma from it (not unpleasant). DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 6, 2008 22-Jan-08 (Draft: Duggan’s Waterfront Pub in Homer, AK) Pretty much a standard American pale ale. Pale malt flavor is minimally sweet and is balanced by a moderately bitter, classic American hop flavor. Aromas are fairly light; not much hops, just some light maltiness. Light-medium in body, crisp and clean on the palate. Medium golden in color with moderate haze. Thin, off-white head settles to a sugar sprinkle film and thin ring. Nothing out of the ordinary here, but there’s nothing wrong with making a straight forward beer. CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jul 5, 2008 On tap, 7/2/8, at Lands End in Homer. Light orange with thin white head. Nice soft flavor. Easy to drink but kind of bland at the end. iamsancho16 (99), USA Nov 17, 2006 The Homer Brewing company is one of my favorite local breweries. Almost every single beer it produces is excellent. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jul 22, 2005 Eh. Grassy, decently hoppy aroma. No head, basic PA flavor. Nice palate though. Take the brewers other options. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2005 Taken from the brewery in a growler 7/7/05: Orange with a yellow tinge and firm, rocky head. Soapy/malty aroma. Grassy and silky with a slippery palate. Too soapy. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 4, 2004 Poured at the brewery in a take home bottle. Light orange appearance, with a small white head. Faint aroma of mint leaves and fresh lake water. Slight citrusy bent to the flavor, but overall, rather bland. Decent with food, also had one with a halibut and salmon dinner. Mouthfeel is decent enough. An everyday PA, not bad.
