Commercial Description:
Bywater Bay ESB has an inviting dark straw color. The toasted grain flavor goes very well with light hop finish. The alcohol content is 4.5% and it has 43 IBU level. The ESB has a drier mouth feel than the pale ale, but not as bitter as an IPA. A pleasant session ale.

Gold-bronze with little head. Moderate mix of crystal and dank Britt hops in the aroma. Boring Britt hop profile balanced by lackluster malt. Some woodiness and beery bitter finish.

Bottle from By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Another cruddy infected beer in a bottle from Hood Canal. They might consider renaming the company "Drain Pour Brewing." Poured a copper-amber body with a huge white head that erupted out of the bottle and all over the counter top and floor upon opening. Bitter, sweet, and sour metallic nose. Only a few sips before this one headed down the drain.

Bottle: Copper color, light white head and lacing. Nose of bitter decent hops and some light pale and very light caramel malts. The flavor has a decent bitter tail and a balanced maltiness but nothing for a body and a fairly mediocre tail. Ok ESB. Bought at Central Market in Poulsbo, WA.

Taster - Hood Canal Brewery - Kingston, WA
Aroma – Deep bitter hops aroma. Nice malt backing.
Appearance – Deep Amber color, small head and clear.
Flavor – This was a deep bitter yet buttery flavor. This was a truly great ESB. Lots of great flavor.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, A nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – The beer was great ESB. Liked the flavors the buttery flavor was odd but I really liked it. A great beer this was a beer I would recommend for the day.

aw, the first one to rate, this was purchased at central market in poulsbo, washington. pour is a clear amber with a medium size egg-shell head, very nice lacing through the whole drinking process. smell is hoppy, caramel, a touch of roasted nuts. taste is thick, creamy, slight grapefruit hops, some caramel, some grass, a nut or two, nice bitter end. overall a solid brew, reminds me more of a weaker IPA.
